"Ideals are like stars. We will not succeed in touching them with our hands, but by following them, like the seafaring man on the ocean we will reach our destiny."

2008 is coming to an end soon. It's time to find some time in the midst of Christmas parties and year end gatherings to reflect on 2008 and set new targets for the year ahead. I've done mine, have fun with yours. Merry Christmas, may you and family have a great time and be blessed!

Hoho,

Style wedding photo shoot

Just weeks ago. Oh mine.. Nono! It's almost a month already! I'm losing my sense of time. Getting old 'oleli lah'!!! Anyway, I did a photo shoot for Style:Wedding and worked with a team of professionals who were really fun back then. It was my first time as a groom but it was without a bride..! Although it was a 'bride-less' wedding shoot, the shoot still went smooth and it was enjoyable TOTALLY (sour lah!). Haha! Anyway during the shoot, I managed to catch up with some people whom I've worked with before and met some new ones! Thank God for that! I got glimpses of the pictures and I love them, but it will only be in next year's March issue. It will gonna be a long wait for the view of the end product. I hope it will be as great or better than what I previewed during the shoot. I'm not sure if I can share some of the pictures taken during the shoot here yet.. i'll post it if it's allowed. anyway, here are some pictures of the team which made me look suave and charming! (feel weird saying that lah!) *shy*

I got a surprise!

I'm surprised by surprise surprisingly. Surprise surprise...!
Okay.. that's lame! Damn.
Anyway, I was recently surprised by a exquisite gift from a friend. And what amazed me more is that the gift is handmade!

Look how beautiful it is.

It's nice to receive a surprise, it just make one's day instantly. Likewise, it will be nice to give your loved ones pleasant surprises once in a while. It can be a simple one yet it will make your loved ones feel elated for the week or more, or even remembered for life. Don't underestimate the power of your little thoughts. Activate your brain to think of what you can do to sweeten your loved ones day. Surprise your mum with a flower after school or work, send a simple sms or email to daddy that you love him OR you can get something from http://www.cutiesandsweeties.blogspot.com (run by the friend who gave me the gift) OR..OR..OR.. www.riotsg.com (my humble online store.. advertise a little lah.. haa!)
Start surprising today!

Road Trip II

My first time driving up north to Malaysia was a great success!

With minimum expectation and a simple agenda of only one objective "To have fun!”, the trip was filled with surprises. What I loved most is that we've no rigid schedule to follow, we were not restricted by a plan. Every part of the trip was decided on the spot and sometimes on impulse. One of our spontaneous moments was dipping in a waterfall that was along the way to our destination, Cameron Highland. We initially just stopped by to take some pictures, however, the cooling splash was too tempting and it would be sinful not to take a dip in one of God's most beautiful creations! As I was snapping pictures of the waterfall, the craziness in me could no more be suppressed, it took over me! The next thing I knew, I was soaked and enjoying the freezing cold splash! It was AMAZING! Shiok!

The idea of this road trip was first sparked during reservice in June with my NS friends; the response in the beginning was good. As time past and with some delays here and there, the group shrunk from the initial plan of 3 cars to 2 and finally one car!
And as the date of the road trip neared, even I wanted to pull out from the trip as well because of Singfest, which I'm still kinda regretted not going after watching the performances of my favourite singers on youtube! But because I've promised my friends for this road trip long ago, I went on the road trip hoping that it will be raining in Singapore and that Singfest will be cancelled or delayed so I won't regret going on my road trip or I will be able to attend on a later date. EVIL/SILLY I know! This is a perfect example of sourgrapes! haa! Luckily the road trip was fun and Singfest was a big success or I won't be able to watch the amazing performances online.

It was estimated to be a 7hours drive from Singapore to Cameron Highland but ours was about 10hours!
We set off from Singapore at about 8am on Friday morning and arrived at Cameron at about 6pm because we stopped over at almost every beautiful sights. I love driving on Malaysia highway because the speed limit is lovely 110km and you know drivers can't resist to drive slightly faster when the road is clear. hmm! With only 2hours of sleep, I was surprised that I could safely drive to the destination!

The toy turtle, Kumakuma, was supposed to be the mascot for our road trip. We wanted Kumakuma to be in every picture of our trip but we somehow forgot about Kumakuma when we were all engrossed in our play time!
Stall along the road.Iskandar Waterfall

Lakehouse: a gorgeous lodging place that you'll never expect to see in the rural.
Cameron Vally Teashop
Finally, we reached our destination. The climate was cooling and a little cold at night. The average temperature in the day and night is about 20 and 18 degrees celsius respectively. This picture was taken just before we had our organic steamboat dinner! Steamboat dinner in cold climate is totally different from our hot and sweaty chinese new year reunion dinner! On the first night, we had a fruit feast at our hotel room. Fruits there are really cheap and mouthwatering! Foofoo (right) had no idea how to cut mangoes prior to the trip, so he invented his very own method, "banana peel". See.. we gotta peel our mangoes like bananas!

Day 2: We went for a hike on the next morning. It just reminded me of my NS days . Thankfully the weather was cooling !After about 3hours of jungle tracking, we finally reached the end point, A DARN SIGNBOARD without any peak view that we were expecting during the hike or whatsoever! It was just a road at the end of the track. As were cursing and swearing for the 'fruit' of our hike, we noticed a truck that was about to move off and so we all rushed to it and hitched a ride on the back space of the truck to the foot of the track! We were glad we made that crucial decision because the 1hour walk down to the foot according to the map was actually a 1-2hour drive! The map is NOT to scale! Lettuce farm
Accident. Uncle must be trying the drain-stunt in Initial D.
Tea plantationWe spotted a small snake!
One thing you won't missed our at Cameron highland is the strawberry obsession! Besides tea, strawberries are also one of their main products. And you will be surprise d by their craze over strawberries. Everything that can be 'strawberrized' are 'strawberrized'!

1) Icecream, sundaes and drinks.2) muffin!3) HumanWe bought a total of 10kg of strawberries back home!

At the strawberry farm.We ended our road trip with another big feast at Johor! I gained 4 kg in a 3days trip! Unbelievable!
The road trip was an amazing weekend getaway for me before school starts. It was quite an eyeopener for me in terms of the culture and lifestyle. One interesting sight was at the petrol station near the causeway. I witnessed all the funniest tricks Singaporeans used to fill their tank to the max! For example, shaking the car, filling the tank with the tip of the dispenser outside of the hole etc! It's understandable because the petrol price is almost half our Singapore's. That's why my friends and I tried those tricks to fill my fuel tank too! It was hilarious because we were inexperience and ended up overfilling!
Anyway, this trip definitely got me hooked to road trip. I am expecting more road trips in future!
